We often want peace, grace and a sense of God’s presence in our lives yet feel God is absent as we live at odds with what Jesus and his apostles taught. Paul teaches us, in the final part of his second letter to the church in Thessalonica, that those who honour the word of the Lord, honour the Lord who gave us his word. That the way to prepare for the Advent of Jesus is to go deeper into trust and wisely into obedience.
