What is there to say about a leader who acts humbly? It is a sad comment on us that our cynicism can’t gelieve that such leadership is possible. Humility is weakness to be exploited. It is naivety regarding how the world really works. Palm Sunday, which marks the beginning of the last week of Jesus’ life, tells us we are the ones who have it wrong, we are the ones being exploited by our own cynicism and inescapable brokenness.
