Anger in others makes us deeply uncomfortable, anger in ourselves shocks us, and anger from God repels us. This is why Psalm 137 has been called unChristian and its closing verses are often left out of Bible reading programs. But we live in a world where anger exists and often should exist in response to the evils that are done under the sun. The Bible is not just a fairweather friend, its wisdom encompasses all the situations human beings have faced – it even gives us prayers like this to pray from war zones that turn out to be more merciful than comfortable times can imagine. You are welcome to join us this Sunday 2/2 from 10am for our service of Holy Communion.
