Hello Everyone!
Inner North Youth Group will be back in just under 2 weeks!
We’re launching the year with another Family Night at St John’s, Brunswick West. We have some great games, excellent food, and a look at the year ahead. We’ll also have a mediocre Bible talk from our youth minister. Everyone in year 6 to year 12 and their families are invited.
I’m putting all the details below. But first let me tell you about registration and a few other things.
2025 Registration
As it’s a new year, every youth needs to register for INYG for 2025. However, I’ve updated the registration process so the form for returning youth will be the shortest ever INYG rego form. I know, I know, what a time to be alive! Here are the relevant forms.

New Time, Same Great Youth Group
I know many families find getting to Brunswick West on a Friday night a tricky undertaking. For some, it even rules out coming to youth group altogether. So we’re looking for ways to make getting to youth group easier.
We’re starting with the easiest change: our start and end times. This year INYG will start and finish half an hour later. INYG’s new time is 7pm-9pm. This will hopefully give families a bit more breathing room between getting home from school/work/extracurriculars and having to leave for youth group. It will also hopefully mean the traffic is a little less chaotic.
INYG Goes on the Road
A few years ago we looked at moving INYG to a different location to reduse the difficulty families have getting to Brunswick West. While we didn’t end up changing, we’re revisiting the question this year. We’re doing this because while St John’s works well for running youth group, it’s geographically inconvenient for many. Most of INYG lives east of St John’s, only three families live further west. Some families travel between 12km and 13km across the city to get to youth group, which can take up to 35 minutes one way on a standard night. Because of this, I’m hoping we can find a more equitable location for youth group.
For term one and two, we will test out multiple locations to assess their suitability for youth group and their impact on families.
This term we’ll start at St John’s Brunswick West, but will also run youth group in Fairfield, Brunswick East, and Carlton North.
I know this will make things a bit more confusing in the short term. And while travel will be easier for some families, it will make it harder for others. Please let me know how you and your family go with these trials as it will help us find the best solution for the most people. I appreciate your patience as we work on this.
Alright, and now for the details for next Friday.
