Jude proves that thoughts that pass as modern teaching in our churches have existed ever since Christianity was a thing. Denying what God has done in Jesus Christ and denying Jesus’ divinity isn’t new. Neither is cheap discipleship, turning grace into a reason to bless our current lifestyles rather than acting on Jesus’ call to take up our own particular cross to follow him. However, Jude’s response to these challenges is very different from what conservative Christians may do in our time.
