The New Testament reminds us that we, like the ancient people of God, are on a journey and we are not in our final home. We also are looking for the city that is to come (Hebrews 13:14). Like ancient Israel, the way ahead will not be easy, but we have One who has gone ahead. ‘Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus…’ (Hebrews 12:1,2).
