Humility gets a mixed press from our thinkers and leaders but servant like humility has shaped our country deeply. It is why we aim for a public service and not a party bureaucracy. It is why we have a department of defence rather than a ministry of war. It is why we get angry when people with responsibility and power use those things for themselves rather than for others. Where did this expectation of humble service come from? The apostle Paul, in his letter to the first church in Europe, tells us it came from Christ. That humility is at the heart of reality. Join us 10 am on Sunday 30/6 for Holy Communion and to celebrate a baptism.
