Jesus prayed that our unity would be based around his glory. This is not unity around conformity to doctrinal or social norms, nor unity around denominational loyalties, nor unity around shared tastes and preferences. It is not unity around family groups or language or shared humanity or even our hunger for peace. In a divided world, what unifies the gifts of all our diversity is the glory of his suffering, the glory of him revealing to us God (especially in his death) and the eternal glory he shares with us which he had before the universe was created. 10 am Sunday 24/3 is a service of Holy Communion.
