Giving

We worship a generous God, who has given us huge spiritual blessings and also material wealth. Part of following Jesus and being part of God's family is giving of all our resources: including money, but also time, energy, affection - our whole selves. We don't try to "repay" God, but to become more like him in showing generosity to others.

Church workers are supported by those who belong to the church, and St John's is no different. All money given to St John's is overseen by the Wardens and Vestry, and our budgets and accounts are reported at the AGM and audited each year.

Giving options at St John's

  • Plate: Each week in the service, we pass around a plate during one of the songs. Gifts of money can be placed in these, and will be counted and banked after the service.
  • Giving envelopes: If you would find it helpful to have envelopes for each week of the year, these are available from the church office.
  • Direct debit: Please contact the office for information regarding Direct Debit giving to the Parish.
