Christians worship One God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God did not simply send someone to die for our sins—this would hardly be an act of love. Rather, He sent himself. God dwells in us and inspires the Scriptures, and Jesus reveals God to us not as a prophet, but as God—a God of relationship, from before humans existed. And the Holy Spirit is God. So we are commanded to baptise in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). Though it’s not simple to explain, the doctrine of the Triune God is the very foundation of everything Christians hold dear. In every service at St John’s, we affirm this when we say the Creed together.
God is Trinity. This Trinity Sunday Len will preach from Colossians 3:18–17 on Serving the Lord in Our Relationships.
