Families and Kids
St John's welcomes families with kids of all ages. We run a number of activities and programs for them:
Sunday services
Children always participate in the first part of the service, and Holy Communion. During school term, we have two Sunday School groups: Sparks (preschool-Grade 2) and Flames (Grades 3-6). The Narthex (foyer) contains a number of toys and functions as a large play space during the service; sound from the service comes through speakers. All leaders involved in Sunday School have current Working With Children Cards.
Once a term, the older children are involved in KidsServe - an opportunity for the kids to welcome, collect the offering, read the Bible and run the sound desk and data projector.
Our library also contains a number of books appropriate for different age groups.
Babies and toddlers (BATS)
This playgroup runs weekly on Mondays during school term. Parents of babies and toddlers enjoy hanging out while kids play. Morning tea is provided for both children and parents. All are welcome.
Mini Maestros
Mini Maestros runs on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.
